SERECIO MATHEW B. JO

Atty. Mat is a distinguished legal practitioner and Certified Public Accountant (CPA) with more than three decades of experience in law, business, and academe. He was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 1988 and earned his CPA license in 1983, placing highly in both examinations. His dual qualifications provide him with a unique and highly valuable perspective, allowing him to approach complex legal and financial issues with precision, depth, and strategic foresight.

Over the course of his career, Atty. Mat has developed extensive expertise in litigation, commercial law, corporate law, taxation, labor law, and property-related cases, with particular strength in expropriation and right-of-way (ROW) matters. He has handled a wide range of disputes involving real estate ownership, valuation, land acquisition, and infrastructure-related cases, representing clients in matters involving major government and utility entities such as DPWH, NAPOCOR, TRANSCO, and NGCP. His experience spans cases across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, demonstrating both the breadth and depth of his practice.

His litigation practice is characterized by disciplined advocacy, meticulous preparation, and a deep understanding of both legal doctrine and financial valuation. In expropriation and property disputes, he brings particular strength in compensation analysis and valuation issues, ensuring that clients’ property rights are fully protected and just compensation is secured in accordance with law.

Atty. Mat’s professional background also includes significant experience in academe and corporate practice. He served as a Commercial Law Professor at the University of San Carlos, contributing to the legal education of future practitioners. Earlier in his career, he gained corporate and operational experience in accounting and management roles, which further enhanced his practical understanding of business and finance.

Beyond legal practice, Atty. Mat is a seasoned businessman and corporate leader. He is actively involved in multiple business ventures, particularly in real estate development, construction-related enterprises, and hospitality. He serves as President of several corporations, including Cebu Megastress Post-Tensioning Inc., Jo & Pintor Investment Corporation, Masurete Wholesaler & Exporter Corporation, and Jo Brothers Development & Realty Corporation. He is also engaged in the hotel and hospitality industry, being an operator of MJ Hotel & Suites and Serencio In & Go Hotels / Residences in Cebu. His entrepreneurial experience provides him with a keen understanding of commercial realities, enabling him to offer clients legal strategies that are both technically sound and business-oriented.

He is an active member of the Philippine Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Integrated Bar of the Philippines. He has also held leadership roles in professional organizations, including serving as former 2nd Vice President of the Young Lawyers Association of Cebu and as a member and former Board of Trustee of the University of San Carlos Law Alumni Association.

Known for his discipline, professionalism, and strategic mindset, Atty. Mat is regarded as a steady and authoritative advocate in complex legal disputes. Charmaine
C. Ibañez

Atty. Charm is a lawyer weathered and tested by early working experiences in different work industries. She started working at the age of 16 and landed her way in the legal profession by juggling both full time work in real estate and law school. She has been in the practice of law for ten (10) years and has started her own law office and real estate brokerage office in 2017 where she was hands-on and dedicated in her direct dealings and services with clients. As a founding partner of Jo Ibanez Larida & Associates Law Offices and IQ Law, she has established a reputation for her independence, professionalism, and practical legal approach and solutions.

Her areas of expertise include real estate law, contracts, labor law, corporate law, and general legal practice, with a strong focus on mediation, negotiations and settlement as the most effective means of resolving disputes. Recognizing that not all conflicts require prolonged litigation, Atty. Charm has championed alternative dispute resolution methods that save clients time, resources, and stress, while still achieving fair and lasting outcomes. Throughout her career, she has represented clients in complex property transactions, high-value disputes, and sensitive negotiations, earning the trust of individuals, families, and business leaders alike. Atty. Charm is known for providing practical solutions tailored to clients’ needs, ensuring that legal strategies are both effective and sustainable.

While Atty. Charm has preferred to have limited litigation and courtroom exposure and experience, she is recognized for the ability to guide clients toward peaceful, strategic, and cost-effective resolutions. She believes in the power of delivering results by achieving what the client wants that is in accord with the rules of law.

Beyond legal practice, she actively engages in real estate businesses and engages in sports, wellness and continuing legal and real estate education and development. She is very hands on in the administration of the day-to-day operations of the law office and ensures staff’s professional and personal growth are achieved through mentorship sharing insights and experiences with her colleagues.

With her leadership, JIL Law / IQ Law will continue to fulfill and embody its mission and vision to its clients, partners, colleagues, and the communities in general.

Jupiter Stalin
M. Larida

Atty. Jupiter is a seasoned litigation lawyer with more than twenty (20) years of experience in handling complex and high-stakes disputes. He has built a solid reputation for his depth in litigation practice, marked by strategic advocacy, disciplined case management, and a results-oriented approach.

His core areas of practice include intellectual property, arbitration, labor disputes, and property-related litigation. Over the course of his career, Atty. Jupiter has represented clients in a wide range of contentious matters, from protecting proprietary rights and resolving commercial disputes through arbitration, to handling labor controversies and real estate litigation. His extensive exposure to both judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings enables him to navigate intricate legal issues with precision and efficiency.

He is also recognized for his representation of poultry owners in Bantayan Island in relation to environmental regulatory and control cases, where he has handled matters involving compliance, enforcement, and the balancing of regulatory requirements with the rights and interests of local industries. His work in this area reflects his ability to address emerging legal issues at the intersection of environmental regulation, business operations, and community concerns.

Beyond his legal practice, Atty. Jupiter is actively engaged in community leadership, serving as a Barangay Captain. This role underscores his commitment to public service and provides him with a grounded understanding of local governance, community dynamics, and grassroots-level concerns, perspectives that further enrich his approach to legal advocacy.

Aldrin Mark
M. Quintana

Atty. Aldrin is a practicing lawyer, educator, and licensed professional teacher, with over a decade of combined experience in the fields of law, academe, and corporate services. He passed the 2014 Bar Examinations and was admitted to the Philippine Bar in 2015.

He began his legal career at Somera, Peñano & Associates where he handled litigation in tax, labor, and criminal cases. In 2016, he joined Jimeno Law Offices as Senior Associate, later rising to Junior Partner, where he represented clients in civil, labor, and criminal litigation, estate settlements, and corporate transactions, while also overseeing associate lawyers. His administrative acumen led him to serve as Assistant to the Managing Partner, supervising associates, paralegals, and staff, ensuring both operational efficiency and legal excellence.

His fields of specialization include: Litigation & Dispute Resolution in civil, labor, criminal, and estate cases; Corporate & Commercial Law, advisory for corporate clients, contract drafting, business structuring; Administrative & Regulatory Practice, corporate compliance, notarial practice, and government liaison work; Legal Education & Research such as teaching, academic publishing, and professional training.

Beyond legal practice, Atty. Aldrin has dedicated himself to the academe as a long-serving faculty member at Centro Escolar University since 2010 and a faculty member of the School of Law and Jurisprudence since 2016. His courses have ranged from Obligations and Contracts, Torts and Damages, and Special Proceedings, to Constitution, Economics with Taxation, Rizal’s Life and Works, and Legal Environment of Business. He has consistently been recognized as an Outstanding Professor, reflecting his deep commitment to education and mentorship. He is also an accredited lecturer with the Philippine Association for Teachers and Educators, Inc. (PAFTE), where he regularly delivers lectures on laws and ethics governing professional teachers in the Philippines, furthering his advocacy for professionalism, accountability, and integrity in the teaching profession.

In addition, he has authored and co-authored several academic works, including Principles of Economics, Taxation, Land Reform and Cooperatives (2015), Shortcut to Congress: The Philippine Party-List System (JD Thesis, 2014), and commentaries on the Cybercrime Law of 2012.

Atty. Aldrin graduated Salutatorian of his class at CEU School of Law and Jurisprudence (JD, 2014), and was a Dean’s Awardee for Academic Excellence. He also holds a double degree in Political Science and Education (Social Sciences), where he was awarded for Leadership and as one of CEU’s Model Presidents in 2010.

With his dual role as lawyer and educator, Atty. Aldrin brings not only technical expertise but also a perspective rooted in scholarship, advocacy, and public service. As Partner at JIL and IQ Law, he is committed to advancing the firm’s mission of integrated, resolution-focused, and client-centered legal practice.

Ma. Teresa
S. De Ramos

Atty. Mariz is a newly minted lawyer who passed the Philippine Bar Examination on December 22, 2023.

She obtained her Juris Doctor Degree at Polytechnic University of the Philippines and her pre-law degree of BSBA Major in Legal Management at Far Eastern University.

Before joining the firm, she worked as a Court Decongestion Officer at the Regional Trial Court, Pasig City, where she gained experience in drafting court orders, resolutions, and decisions for civil and criminal cases.

In addition, she had her legal internships at the Regional Trial Court, Mandaluyong, City (Drug Court) and the Parole and Probation Office, Quezon, City, where she had her first in-court experience.

Aside from active membership and contribution at PUP College of Law Research Corps and Negotiorum Lex, FEU Legal Management Academic Organization as Associate Vice President for Public Relations and Sponsorship, she likewise authored 'Common Ethical Mishaps in Notarial Practice' (LM Thesis) and 'Collapse in the System: The Stigma of Gang Rule over Philippine Jails' (JD Thesis).
